About Us
Balmurti Online – Inspiring Young Minds, Now in English
Since its inception in 1981, Balmurti has stood as a quiet yet powerful force in shaping childhood experiences through stories, values, and creativity. Rooted in the vision of Shri Lalchandbhai Vora and brought to life under the editorial leadership of Shri Pravinbhai Shah, the Gujarati-language magazine has for over four decades enriched the lives of young readers, educators, and families with content that uplifts without preaching, and educates without pressure.
Now, with the launch of Balmurti Online – English Edition, we open our hearts and pages to a global audience.
This transition is not simply a shift in language it is a broadening of purpose. It is our way of ensuring that the core messages of simplicity, empathy, joyful learning, and holistic development reach more children, parents, and teachers across the world. Through English, we embrace the opportunity to connect across cultures and geographies, while continuing to stay rooted in the timeless wisdom that Balmurti has always embodied.
Our Vision
To create a nurturing, joyful, and value-driven learning ecosystem where childhood is honoured, creativity is celebrated, and every child regardless of geography or background feels seen, heard, and inspired.
We envision Balmurti Online as a space where:
- Stories spark questions more than they deliver answers.
- Learning is led by wonder, not by performance metrics.
- Childhood is protected from the pressure of early comparisons, competition, or conformity.
- Children are not just taught what to think but are gently guided toward how to reflect and why values matter.
- Parents, educators, and caregivers become conscious companions in the child’s journey not enforcers of speed, but enablers of spirit.
Our vision is to build a global platform rooted in Indian thought, yet universally resonant where values are shared without dogma, creativity is nurtured without boundaries, and each child is free to grow into who they are meant to be, at their own rhythm and with their own voice.
We believe the world doesn’t need faster children it needs happier, kinder ones. And Balmurti wishes to play a small yet meaningful role in shaping that future.
Our Mission
- To nurture young minds with stories, songs, and reflections that open doors to curiosity, kindness, and self-expression.
- To provide culturally rooted, value-inspired, and emotionally enriching content without the burden of comparison or judgment.
- To support parents and educators with creative tools that promote learning through love, not pressure.
- To preserve and reinterpret the legacy of Balmurti in a way that speaks to today’s children wherever they are, in whichever language they learn.
- To ensure that every reader whether child or adult finds meaning in our content in their own way, at their own time. We do not assign morals; instead, we leave space for personal interpretation and reflection.
Our Values
Freedom Over Fear: We believe children learn best when they are free to explore, imagine, and make mistakes without fear of failure or pressure to perform.
Joyful Learning: Every activity, story, or poem is created with the child’s happiness in mind because growing up should be magical, not mechanical.
Respectful Growth: We do not believe in early competition. Every child blossoms in their own time, and our role is to nourish, not rush.
Thoughtful Expression: Our content is designed not to preach, but to provoke thought inviting children to arrive at their own understanding.
Cultural Roots, Global Reach: While deeply grounded in Indian ethos, Balmurti aims to resonate universally by focusing on values that are timeless and borderless.
Community Through Contribution: We envision a growing circle of storytellers, artists, educators, and families who co-create this space and keep it vibrant, honest, and alive.
Balmurti Online is a reflection of what we wish every child could experience freedom without fear, learning without pressure, and values without sermons. It is a celebration of childhood in its purest form.
We invite you to read, reflect, and share.
Let Balmurti become a part of your child’s journey and perhaps, your own.
